Apple MFi/Lightning Explained

Apple takes extreme pride in the quality and safety control of their products. This product was approved a license (Apple MFi Certification) to show that Apple Inc. approves that this product meets the strict standards required to qualify for the use of the proprietary 'MFi' (Made For iPhone/iPad/iPod) and 'Lightning' branding.

A third party non-MFi iPhone cable can take up to 55 minutes extra which can cost an extra 330 hours if you charge your phone once daily for a year.
